The Owlerton outfit have put together an exciting side ahead of the 2016 campaign as they aim to build on their first play-off appearance in five years last season.

All-action racer Garrity will be back for his first full season with the club after a spectacular spell in Yorkshire over the second half of last season.

He has revealed how his desire to add a Premier League title to his CV played a major part in his return to Sheffield.

After seeing injuries derail a hugely promising campaign last year, the Manchester-born ace is confident they have what it takes to finally win their first league title since 2002 this time around.

“As a rider I want to be challenging for trophies, and I haven’t been able to do that for whatever reason the last couple of years,” said Garrity.

“The club’s I’ve been at haven’t been at the right end of the table in the Premier League for whatever reason, but I really believe we can change that at Sheffield this year.

“We were unlucky with injuries last year, even before I came in injuries had stopped them from fulfilling their potential, so hopefully we have a bit more luck this year.

“I want to win the Premier League in my career, and with the team we’ve got now I think this can be the year.

“We’ve got a great No.1 in Steady and then we’ve got lots of other good riders as well.

“Me and Josh (Bates) both rode well last year so hopefully we can keep that up, then we’ve got some really good new riders in the team as well.

“I’m confident everyone will be able to do their thing and score their share of the points and as a team we’ll all pull together to make it a great season.”

And Garrity is confident he will be on form on an individual basis.

“I’ve always dreamed of being a professional sportsman and I think this is my time to shine, so I’ve just got to go out there and do what I’ve got to do,” Garrity declared.

“I came in a quarter of the way through the season last year, and I wish I could have been there from the start.

“I loved riding for Sheffield so I’m delighted to be back with the club from the start of this season.

“I’ve been out abroad practising and I feel good so I can’t wait to just put my helmet on and go out there to do my thing.”
