Sheffield Steelers scored a hit with the locals this week when squad members went along to officially open the new Harvester restaurant at Valley Centertainment.
Player Tom Squires, bench coach Neil Able and mascot Steeler Dan did the honours at the Harvester Salad & Grill on Tuesday.
The new restaurant has created 50 jobs and should be good news for fast food fans too, offering a healthier alternative to the usual burger chains.
Manager Amber Louise Craig, said: “We’re delighted that the Sheffield Steelers agreed to officially open our new restaurant.
“This is a fantastic site for the first Harvester in Sheffield and the warm and welcoming atmosphere we’ve created here is already proving popular with local people.”
Freshly-prepared main courses start at £5.89, including a range of grill options – steak, chicken, burger or fish – plus a sauce, a side dish and unlimited salad.
There are also starters, desserts, a ‘young guests’ selection and an ‘earlybird’ menu – which is available all day every day.
Diners who are watching their waistline will be pleased to find that the company has made the job easier for them. Each item on the menu is listed with its calorie count alongside (starting from 260 kcal for flame-grilled chicken breast).
There is also an online nutritional calculator to tally up every other part of the meal.
