Students all set for Sheffield colour run

Students will be splashed with colourful powder as they run past Sheffield landmarks in a fundraising event.

The Student Colour Run is a 5K course from South Street Park, overlooking the railway station, and will go past Park Hill flats, along the tram tracks and back to the park on Saturday May 2.

Organiser Neil Midgley said he wanted to combine a fitness-related event with a party atmosphere.

He said: “It doesn’t matter if participants haven’t done a 5K run before, they’re welcome to walk, skip or hop around the course.

“Students from schools, colleges and universities can attend.”

Both Sheffield Universities are supporting the event with £1 from every ticket going to their RAG charities.

Tickets for the event cost £15.
