Businesses across the region are holding Big Chocolate Tea Parties to help families of patients at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
They include Cocoa Wonderland in Ecclesall Road, which supported The Sick Children’s Trust’s Branching Out Appeal by selling china tea cups filled with handmade truffles and donating 30% of the profits.
Shop owners Kate Shepherd and Anne White, both 28 and from Greystones, Sheffield, were delighted to lend their support to the Telegraph-backed appeal for extra accommodation for families at the hospital.
Kate said: “We are a community-based shop. We are all for supporting worthy causes and giving something back to the people so this was an easy decision for us.”
There will be a Chocolate Tea Party to support the trust at Beacon Methodist Church in Nethergreen Road, on Monday at 3pm.
The Sick Children’s Trust launched its £980,000 Branching Out Appeal to convert a property off Northumberland Road, at the back of the hospital, into 11-bedroom accommodation.
