Talks underway for permanent memorial to Sheffield's Tramlines co-founder Sarah Nulty

Tributes have poured in to Sarah - who was instrumental in the festival's launch in 2009, later becoming the event's director - following her death after a cancer battle a few weeks ago.

Alex Deadman, her friend who worked alongside her as part of the festival organising team, confirmed talks are underway with Sheffield Council for a "permanent memorial in the city centre."

In addition, a memorial video paying tribute to Sarah will be played at the festival before Craig David's performance at Hillsborough Park this Sunday.

There will also be t-shirts and bags bearing the slogan 'Be More Nulty' sold at this weekend's festival with proceeds going to Weston Park Cancer Charity in Sheffield and Cavendish Cancer Care.

Alex said: "There is no way the festival would be where it is today without Sarah.

"She loved putting on parties for people and was great at bringing the team, the council, artists and everyone else together.

"We are in talks for a permanent memorial as a reminder of everything she did."

This year's Tramlines Festival is set to be the biggest yet taking place for the first time at an expanded 40, 000-capacity site in Hillsborough Park with major headliners Noel Gallagher, Stereophonics and Craig David topping the bill.

The event takes place from Friday, July 20, to Sunday, July 22.
