Toby Thomas, aged 9, and a cub scout from Barnsley said: “I have been looking forward to this for months, camping with my friends and getting to do all the activities is a dream, I can’t wait for, its going to be awesome.”

The weekend will celebrate 100 years of cub scouts which started back in 1916 when Baden Powell saw that younger boys also wanted to join scouts. Since then cub scouting has grown worldwide with over 40 million members in 168 different countries.

Dominic Moore, aged 25, a scout leader and part of the organising management team for the event said: “We have been planning this since 2014, the weekend is called PACKMANIA and we have certainly packed a lot into it. We hope that after a fabulous weekend we will send home 3,000 cubs scouts and leaders on Monday, who are shattered but have the biggest of smiles on their faces.”
