Three people fighting for their lives after Sheffield car crashes

THREE people are fighting for their lives after separate car crashes in Sheffield.

The first accident occurred at around 7.20pm on Thursday when a two-car collision on Brightside Lane, Attercliffe left two people injured, one seriously.

The Boxster driver, a 31-year-old Thorpe Hesley man, is in the Northern General Hospital with a possible fractured his sternum.

The Escort driver, a 53-year-old Hillsborough woman, is also in Northern General with slight bruising to her chest.

Police are also appealing for witnesses to a traffic collision on Gleadless Roadbet ween a Honda Civic and Astra 8.45pm last night.

Police say that as the Honda approached the junction with Buck Wood View an animal, possibly a dog or a fox, ran into the road from the nearside.

The 21-year-old driver of the Honda sustained slight injuries but his two passengers, a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and are both being treated in Northern General Hospital.

The 31-year-old male driver of the Astra sustained whiplash.
