The stylish DJ designed the fabulous 50s style tea dress herself for the sporting spectacle.

Having sourced the bonkers bicycle material she then tasked Yorkshire dress maker Daza Rockz with creating the fantastic frock.

Said Jo Jo: “The atmosphere here is fantastic. I think a lot of people saw it on TV yesterday and its encouraged them to come out and see it for themselves today.”

The shopping centre is expected to attract up to 50,000 people of all ages to embrace the Tour de France festival style event and to catch a glimpse of the cyclists speeding by.

Spectators have started to line the race route with people making journeys from across the country and even overseas to partake in the piece of Sheffield history.

Keen Tour de France followers Keith and Sue James have travelled from Cardiff for stage one and two of the race.

Keith said: “We went to the final stage in Paris last year and were eager to see the action in Yorkshire this year.

“We were in Leeds yesterday which was great but have been equally impressed with the atmosphere and organisation in Sheffield too.

“We will be cheering for Welsh cyclist Geraint Thomas.”

Meadowhall centre director Darren Peace, said he was delighted with the turn out and was pleased to host such a special event, not just for the shopping centre but for the whole of Sheffield.

He said: “We wanted to create a really fun family atmosphere with activities for both children and adults to enjoy ahead of the race - the fan fest is buzzing and everyone appears to be having a great time.

“We are fortunate to be on a great strip of the race - after battling Jenkins Hill the cyclist will descent and race on to the finish line.”
