This weekend festival aims to provide three days of celebrations “in the very best of British traditions”.

There’s even a beach, say organisers, plus a vintage fairground.

Festival ticket sales are reaching an all-time high, and more than 4,500 cyclists will be saddling up to take part in the Ride of a Lifetime this Sunday.

As it falls on Father’s Day, the organisers think that will make it the ideal family weekend.

The ride takes in breathtaking views of the Peak District, while stopping along the way to sample some of Derbyshire’s finest food and drink.

The award-winning three-day Great British Family Festival this year includes a Swing Night and a Last Night at the Proms finale with Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Brass Band on Sunday.

There’s lots more live music during the weekend.

The Graze section features street food vans and pop-up bars and the British Bazaar will open its doors for shoppers to browse and purchase from 150 traders.

The event is dog friendly, with pooches getting a chance to strut their stuff , with a special class at a fashion show just for them.

Judges include Patrick Grant from television’s Great British Sewing Bee.

Other VIP guests include Olympic cyclist Chris Boardman in a Question & Answer session, and another with road racer David Millar.

Tickets are available online until noon tomorrow and can then be purchased on the gates on the day for £15 per person with kids under 12 going free all weekend.
