AN EXHIBITION by trainee media photographers will be staged this month in the Winter Garden.
Fifty canvases showing a wide range of subjects and photographic styles and covering events from the 1970s through to the present day will be displayed in the NCTJ Photography Exhibition from September 14 to 23.
It follows the work of NCTJ-trained photographers in regional, national and international media being shown at The Guardian in London this summer.
NCTJ chairman Kim Fletcher said: “The National Council for the Training of Journalists is 60 years old this year – we thought this exhibition was a great way of celebrating the work of some of those photographers who’ve been through our training over the years.
“More than 140 photographs were submitted to us from all over the UK and 50 were selected by the NCTJ photography board. When you look at these pictures you see just what a wealth of talent there is in British media – and we are really proud that the NCTJ has played a part in the development of that talent.”
The exhibition is being supported by PhotoBox, which printed the canvases.
