Sheffield Station and Sheffield Hallam University were also priced at £827.

Other pricey stops include the University of Sheffield and Shalesmoor tram stop, which would cost renters £695 per month.

At the other end of the spectrum, the cheapest properties to rent are in the areas around Herdings/Leighton Road and Herdings Park stops.

They are priced at an average of only £429 a month for a two-bedroom property.

The map also reveals that you do not have to be too far away from the city centre to find an affordable property – with stops White Lane, in Birley, and Gleadless Townend priced at an average of £513 a month and both only a 20-minute tram journey into the city centre.

The map, created, Digital Media Team, lists the average cost based on the postcode prefix of each station.

The date was compiled using Zoopla UK and taken from properties available to rent at the end of February.

Compared to similar research by the company in Manchester, where a one-bedroom property in the city centre is rented out at an average of £785 in the city centre, Sheffielders are getting much more space for their money.
