Bus service extended to Drakehouse supermarket

Shoppers in Killamarsh are benefiting from an extended bus route which now serves one of Sheffield biggest supermarkets.

Stagecoach’s SL3 – Supertram Link 3 – runs every 10 minutes to Asda at Drakehouse, via Waterthorpe Greenway, Moss Way tram stop and Ochre Dike Lane.

The extension has been introduced by Stagecoach after customer feedback and one of several changes made to services this month as part of the bus operator’s regular review of bus networks.

Paul Lynch, managing director, Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “As a community-focused bus company, we’re always looking for ways to make everyday life easier for our passengers and the new SL3 extension is just one example of how we are doing this.

“We’ve made the change based on customer feedback. The route extension means that more people in local communities will be able to access the supermarket making their food shop even easier and more convenient.”

n Stagecoach has introduced changes to travel for Sheffield College students. They will have to use a valid NUS card or NUS extra card to buy tickets instead of a Sheffield College ID card.
