A call has been made to make sure holes left in Sheffield roads during repair works are filled - or work is completed - in three weeks.
Opposition councillors say the guarantee is needed after delays as part of the Streets Ahead roads project left open holes.
Liberal Democrat highways spokesman Joe Otten said: “This is the kind of basic consideration that residents deserve.”
But the council says there is nothing more that could speed up the work. Delays have been due to wet weather and barriers surrounding holes had been blown over.
Coun Jack Scott, cabinet member for environment, said: “A three week guarantee wouldn’t do anything to help get the work done any quicker.” Call 0114 273 4567 to report missing barriers.
