Sheffield pensioner seriously injured in collision with car

A pensioner was seriously injured when he was involved in a collision with a car in Sheffield.

The 65-year-old was walking along Bradway Road, near to the junction of Greenhill Parkway, when he was struck by a silver Vauxhall Corsa.

Police said the collision, which is under investigation, occurred at 6.45pm on Saturday, March 1.

The pedestrian, who is from Sheffield, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains.

Police described his condition yesterday as ‘serious’.

The driver of the car involved in the collision, a 53-year-old local man, escaped unharmed.

Officers investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision want witnesses to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 1087 of March 1.
