A South Yorkshire MP will be one of the main characters in a revealing, behind-the-scenes TV documentary next week.
Rotherham MP Sarah Champion was followed by a film crew for 12 months for a new four-part BBC series called ‘Inside the Commons’.
The documentary crew was given unprecedented access into the lives of a number of MPs, including Sarah, who was in the process of dealing with what became one of the most difficult years in Rotherham’s history.
Viewers will see Sarah as she deals with the fall-out of the Rotherham child sexual exploitation scandal.
Talking about the documentary, Sarah said: “I think it’s fantastic that the public are being given the opportunity to see some of the day-to-day work of their MP.
“The more transparent and open we can be about Parliament, the better.
“This is a job that I absolutely love, despite some incredibly difficult moments, and I hope my enthusiasm comes across in this programme. It is an honour to represent the people of Rotherham in Parliament. I hope my constituents will see just how much it means to me.”
Tune in at 9pm on Tuesday on BBC2.
