Among the charity runners on Sunday will be a cheerleading team from the University of Sheffield.
Members of the Sheffield Sabrecats Stunt Squad will swap their rah-rah skirts for running shoes to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.
About half of the 30-strong team, who are more used to performing acrobatic stunts and high flying tosses, will be joining the run.
Squad member Rachel O’Shea, aged 20, who is studying criminology, said: “We’re all quite fit anyway as we do a lot of training for the squad but running is a different matter!
“It’s going quite well so far though, so hopefully we’ll all be able to make it round in one piece. A few of the team have done it before but it’s my first time.
“We chose Breast Cancer Care because some of our members’ family and friends have been touched by the disease, so it’s a cause close to many of us for that reason. Also, being girls, breast cancer is something that we are all particularly aware of so to help raise the profile of the charity is great as well.”
Each member of the squad is hoping to raise £100.
