An accident, a broken down lorry and a collapsed pedestrian caused traffic chaos across Sheffield this morning.

Part of the A61 Derek Dooley Way, in the city centre, was closed earlier because of a broken down lorry.

Traffic has returned to normal after congestion built up between the Furnival Road junction and the junction for the Parkway.

Emergency services were called to a collision in Osborne Road, Nether Edge, shortly after 7am this morning.

A yellow Citroen DS3 and a black Vauxhall Insignia were involved in a collision, near to the junction with Union Road.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said no-one is reported to have sustained serious injuries.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 20s was taken to hospital after collapsing while crossing City Road.

A police spokesman said she had a pre-existing medical condition.
