Vicky’s pagan poetry wins top £1,000 national prize

A Sheffield woman has won a £1,000 first prize in a national literary competition run by magazine Chat It’s Fate.

Care support worker Vicky Bailey is to receive her prize tomorrow at a presentation at the Central Library.

Vicky’s poem Call of a Priestess in Shadows was inspired by her pagan beliefs, ancient mythology and the works of Homer.

“I began to explore my creativity in writing after becoming a pagan in my early teens,” said Vicky. “I’m also very inspired by my partner Shannon.”
