Police have seized around £100,000 worth of drugs in a series of armed raids across Sheffield.

The force conducted raids in the Manor and Arbourthorne areas on Thursday - with 12 people suspected of being linked to organised drug dealing arrested.

One officer was injured after his foot was run over by suspected drug dealers attempting to escape.

Police have now revealed they have seized four kg of crack cocaine and heroin and a further four kg of cannabis with a combined value of £100,000.

Over £40,000 in cash has also been recovered

Of the 12 people arrested, six remain in police custody today being questioned by officers.

Six have been bailed pending further enquiries as the investigation continues.

Sheffield commander Chief Superintendent David Hartley, said the force would ‘not tolerate’ organised drug dealing. He said further raids are being planned and sent a direct message to criminal involved in the ‘scourge’ of drug dealing.

“This is not a one-off, it is business as usual,” he said.

“It might be your door we are coming to tomorrow morning.”

He thanked the officers who had been involved in the raids and put their personal safety at risk.
