Barnsley boys Hirsty and Danny joined up with Leeds born and bred JoJo on Hirsty’s Daily Dose on the then Galaxy Radio.

The station became 105 Capital FM in January 2011 when the new regional Capital network was launched across the UK and Hirsty’s Daily Dose became its flagship breakfast show.

Hirsty told The Star: ‘I’m so humbled to have been on the air here for 10 years, It honestly doesn’t feel like I’ve sat in a small room with Danny & JoJo talking utter rubbish every morning to our 9 listeners for that long. We are like a little dysfunctional family...but it’s the people who listen and contact us daily that make the show really what it is, we couldn’t do it without them as I love the show being more about the listener than us three.

JoJo added: ‘Breakfast radio is the best job in the world! I can’t believe our show has lasted this long and I’m not entirely sure how we’ve managed to do that many early mornings without throttling one another! Here’s to the next 20!’

Hirsty began his career in radio, on work experience, aged just 12.

He got his first show at Radio Aire when he was 15, before working for The Pulse, Hallam FM and Viking FM, then Galaxy in 2003.

Co-host Danny started his career as a stand-up comedian and won a national award, then joined Hirsty at Viking FM.

The pair stayed together and were joined by JoJo, who originally trained as an actress, at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She also sang in a band before switching to radio at Kiss FM in Leeds.
