A new £500,000 trampoline park has been given the thumbs-up by young fans.

Go Bounce has already welcomed its first visitors after opening its doors earlier this month and is from the team behind the town's successful indoor play centre Astrabound.

And spokesman Shaun Wilson said the response to the Shaw Lane-based park in its opening few days had been "incredible."

He said: "People have been very positive and like what we have to offer. People seem to be going out of their way to tell us how good it is and how much they like what we are doing here.

"The children are absolutely loving it and have been having a whale of a time."

The state-of-the-art indoor trampoline park includes a series of fun bouncing zones with interconnecting flat and angled trampolines for children to bounce on as well as games and competitive features such as dodgeball, slamdunk, a climbing wall, jumping platform, battle arena and parkour to provide fun and exercise for all ages.

Up to 100 bouncers an hour are able to use the indoor play centre which also has a 120 seat refreshment facility area, lights and music and parking. Prices start at £9 an hour and include free souvenir grip socks for participants. The centre is open from 9am to 10pm each day and employs more than 50 staff.

Mr Wilson said that the centre had been such a success that in the coming weeks, Dunscroft-based House of Play, the firm which owns both Astrabound and Go Bounce, would be opening a new factory in Shaw Lane to cope with the demand.

He said: "We will be expanding into next door and using the unit as a manufacturing base too. We are looking at getting up and running in the next six to eight weeks and we are looking to increase the workforce too."

Fitness classes and children's parties are already up and running and there are plans to introduce a dodgeball league at the centre, which becomes the town's second trampoline park after Airkings at nearby Kirk Sandall.

Astrabound, the Crompton Road indoor play centre, has attracted thousands of children from across the country since opening in 2008.

Shaun added: “We intend to make the first few months of Go Bounce a celebration and as with Astrabound, we look forward to creating many happy times for so many people, young and old, to look back on with wonderful memories.

"To us, it is all about getting it right with no compromises. It isn't just about people having fun - its about getting the atmosphere right and it is also about taking people out of their comfort zone. We want people to come along and get that adrenalin buzz."
