The Park Hill, Sheffield fighter picked up his eighth win on Sam O'maison's undercard, last weekend.

And now he believes he's in the fast lane to do something he couldn't last year, win a major title.

Last July, he lost to Samir Mouneimne for the vacant English Featherweight belt.

But he's won twice since then, including Saturday's points win over Edward Bjorklund at Bramall Lane.

Najib said the title loss in 2017 helped give him experience.

It did not have an adverse effect on his career and at 23, he says, and believes there's a long way to go in his career.

"I am hoping to have some news at bantam or super bantamweight. By the end of this year I hope to be boxing for English or British title whatever is available. I am ready, I have been training now for four months constant."

Najib (8-2-0) is still learning his trade after turning pro in 2015.

He says head movement is one area he needs to improve on.
