Hockey insiders suggest Ervins Mustukovs, released along with eight other imports, will be signing for a team in the Ligue Magnus.Today Steelers' executive Davis Simms wished the Latvian well but said he felt the club would land an upgraded replacement.Simms said he was 'ten out of ten' confident they would recruit somebody just as good or better than the 'Moose.'"I am confident that Paul would not release a goalie if he wasn't confident that he could get a better goalie" he said."It is the most important position in a hockey club and I am sure he will find a stud." Simms described the 34-year-old netminder as a great goalie."He had three seasons with us: two championships in the League, one play off championship, (he will) go down as one of the great goalies."He will join a list of illustrious goalies we have had from your Wayne Cowley, your Mike O'Neill, your (Christian) Bronsard, your (Joel) Laing to your Jody Lehman and now you add Mustukovs to it as well."We wish him well; a top servant to the club."However Simms said he agreed with his release, although the decision had nothing to do with him.He said his own view was it had been "time for a change."But I loved the bloke to bits never caused me a second's problem all the time he was here and I wish him and his Mrs well."
