The city’s top spot is a toss-up between four.
According to the latest response from local people, it’s between Leopold Square, Sheffield Hallam University’s Furnival building in Arundel Street and the University of Sheffield’s Soundhouse in Gell Street.
But the People’s Award category of the Sheffield Design Awards 2010 competition is still wide open with the Jessop building, Castle College and Anne’s Grove School pulling in plenty of votes.
Deadline for the competition, which is being run by Sheffield Civic Trust in partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects Yorkshire, is January 31, ahead of the awards ceremony at the Showroom cinema on February 16.
A number of other awards will be made by a judging panel that includes Nick Dodd, chief executive of Museums Sheffield, and Prof Flora Samuel, head of Sheffield School of Architecture.
