For a second successive year, we offer best value stay-cation city break over coming August bank holiday weekend.

According to TripIndex UK Cities, an annual cost comparison study by travel and booking site TripAdvisor, three night and four day trip for two in Steel City amounts to an average £706.

Among 20 most popular cities, Leeds is second best value destination, with the north generally providing better deals than south when comparing overall costs.

TripAdvisor spokeswoman Hayley Coleman commented: “For Brits planning a UK break over the upcoming bank holiday weekend, heading north will generally offer the best value for a three-night break".

TripIndex UK Cities compares cost of three-night break over August bank holiday weekend, taking into account typical costs for two people for four-star hotel, four attractions, daily lunch and dinner as well as short taxi ride.
