WIN: Cool foodie break for two with this week's Sheffield Telegraph

The prize includes two places on the introduction to ice cream making course [www.schoolofartisanfood.org/product/introduction-to- ice-cream- making] on Tuesday 24 July at the School, based in the former fire stables in a beautiful secluded countryside setting, in the midst of the Welbeck Estate, Nottinghamshire.

The offer includes an overnight stay and traditional English breakfast at the nearby Ye Olde Bell Hotel in the rural village of Barnby Moor on June 21, July 23, July 24 or September 26.

The course is delivered by tutor Kitty Travers, founder of London’s La Grotta Ices, renowned for her creative use of flavour, mastery of technique and commitment to natural ingredients, making her the go-to modern ice cream expert in the UK.

She will teach students how to create eight different types of vanilla ice cream using a range of techniques to demonstrate how each one can influence the texture and flavour of the ice cream and how to incorporate seasonal flavours into ice creams, granitas and sorbets.

The course runs from 9.30am to 5pm, and includes a buffet style lunch.

The hotel is on the borders of Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire has been lovingly restored and renovated by its current owners. It features 59 beautiful rooms, suites and lodges, all individually styled with period furniture, luxurious fabrics and contemporarybathrooms. Dining at Ye Olde Bell ranges from traditional classics and modern British dishes served in either the elegant Restaurant 1650 or the more informal St Leger Bistro and Bar to hearty Sunday roasts and traditional afternoon teas.

A place on the course is normally £145 pp and the hotel room rates are standard double £195 up to superior at £265. The prize is based on two sharing a room, doubles and twins are available.
