Woman's bid to track down Doncaster solicitor from 6,000 miles away
A woman in South Africa is trying to track down a Doncaster solicitor - from 6,000 miles away.
Rita Pringle, who lives in Johannesburg, is bidding to track down lawyer Barbara Evans, who she believe lives in the Doncaster area, to help with her late mother's will.
Mrs Pringle's mother Lille Livesey died last October and Mrs Evans was the solicitor who helped draw up the will in 1992.
She said: "She was named with me as co executor of my mom’s will. Before I can proceed with probate I need to locate Barbara.
"I have tried to find her without success. I am assuming that she still lives in the Doncaster area because she worked in Conisbrough."
The will was drawn up on March 23, 1992 by Messrs George Lee & Co at their offices at 38 Church Street, Conisbrough.
She said: "I have tried them but no one has responded. I am pretty sure that Mr Lee passed away.
"Then I think his business was taken over by Evans Smith Solicitors at the same address and same phone number in Conisbrough. I assume that Barbara Evans was the solicitor there."
Mrs Pringle says she understands that Evans Smith has now ceased trading.
Added Mrs Pringle: "I lived in Doncaster almost 50 years ago and have lived in various countries in southern Africa since leaving England so am a bit out of touch on how to trace people in the UK."
Anyone who can help should contact her at P O Box 903, Ruimsig, Gauteng 1732, South Africa.
