A CROWD of between 18,000 and 20,000 is expected at the After Dark bonfire celebrations at Don Valley Bowl on Saturday night.
X Factor star Sophie Habibis will push the plunger at 8.45pm to start a £20,000 fireworks display and a 20-minute show as part of the 16th event.
In addition to fireworks set to music, there will be a funfair, Real Radio stage and food stalls.
Organiser Scott Barton, of Yellow Bus Events, said: “It is the biggest event in Yorkshire, and we have been listed in national newspapers as being in the top ten in the country.
“We are now attracting people from across the region because a lot of areas have stopped doing their own bonfires and firework displays.”
He added: “Tickets are selling faster than ever but we have managed to increase the event capacity in the last couple of years so we should be able to accommodate everybody.”
The bonfire will be lit at 7pm. Tickets cost £9 for adults and £4 for children under 14 until 4 pm on the day when prices rise to £10 and £5.
They are available by contacting 0114 2565656 or www.arenaticketshop.co.uk or in person at the Arena, City Hall and students’ unions.
Tickets are also available on the night outside Ice Sheffield.
