ANYONE who thought the world of motoring was a boys-only club can think again - as these bright sparks are bringing girl power to one car business.

Sheffield showroom Hatfield Jaguar has just completed recruiting a team of six new after-sales apprentices, all of whom are female.

Around 400 young men and women applied, but the ladies proved they have the skills to shine in what is traditionally perceived as a male-dominated world.

The apprenticeship scheme was organised through the Learning Skills Partnership based Yorkshire.

Gareth Williams, managing director of Hatfields, said they did not have any gender preferences in the process.

“These young ladies were the pick of a very talented bunch, and came through the assessment clearly in front of hundreds of lads and other girls,” he said.
