I am appalled.
1) UK rescue workers say they were forced to leave Japan because they could not secure the necessary paperwork from the British Embassy in Tokyo
2) The BBC brazenly squanders my licence fee by sending at least four reporters (plus camera etc staff), for one of them to stand there, “interview” a local and ask her the daft questions (quote) “Why have you come here to help (and) Do you think this has brought the Japanese together as a nation?”
Meanwhile the Foreign Office “advises against all non-essential travel”.
There was a time we referred to common sense. The problem nowadays is that sense is simply not common.
