A TEENAGER has been sentenced to 16 months in a young offenders’ institution for an unprovoked attack which left a man with a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.
Jordan Maltby, aged 18, of Hazelhurst Avenue, was one of three teenagers who attacked a 45-year-old man as he and his girlfriend walked along Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, in May last year.
The man was punched a number of times in his face.
Maltby pleaded guilty at Derby Crown Court to inflicting grievous bodily harm.
A 17-year-old boy also charged over the incident received a 12-month detention and training order after pleading guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm. Another 17-year-old was given a six-month detention and training order after admitting affray.
