KELL Brook has shrugged off suggestions that Matthew Hatton’s trainer has crafted a master-plan to conquer him at Sheffield Arena on Saturday.
Sheffield’s Brook is fed up of hearing how trainer Bob Shannon has been working round the clock to find a way for Hatton to win.
At a press conference, Shannon said the fight would “come down to the tactics” he and Brook’s trainer, Dominic Ingle, could come up with.
He said he would be spending “day and night” on Brook’s “strengths and faults”. Shannon made similar remarks on a TV programme.
But Brook dismissed the importance of the veteran trainer. “Bob seems to love the cameras and make things all about him. It’s the Bob Shannon show in his mind,” he said. “He said he’d got a room where he just watches tapes about me.
“Well he can say whatever he wants about the ‘perfect game-plan’.
“Fighters watch tapes to prepare for Floyd Mayweather and then get beaten. That is what will happen on Saturday.”
The pair are contesting the WBA Inter-Continental and IBF International welterweight titles.
