Sheffield gave a typically warm and generous welcome to Kevin Bizier today.
He is the Canadian welterweight who is challenging the city's world champion Kell Brook, at the Arena on Saturday.
In a promotional work-out at the Winter Garden, there was a polite applause from members of the public when Bizier was introduced to them.
But the hand of friendship will become a Steel City clenched fist on Saturday, as Brook defends his IBF title.
Brook is heavy favourite to inflict a first stoppage on the north American.
The Sheffielder, called the world's best welterweight this week by Carl Froch, should attract 7,000 fans to the Arena.
He hopes to win in spectacular fashion and then take on bigger names in the sport, possibly unifying the division.
