Jon Buchanan landed the top award at Sheffield Tigers annual end of season prize presentation at Dore Moor.
The all-action centre has played a big part in Tigers’ promotion-winning campaign and was duly rewarded when he received the Player of the Year trophy.
Ali Thompson and Frank Wragg won their respective Young Player of the Year and the Most Improved Player of the Year awards while Owen Evans was named Development Team Player of the Year.
In the junior section, Joe Duffy bagged the Player of the Year prize and Liam Brown, the Players Player. Ben Broomhead got the vote as the Most Improved Player.
Outstanding Achievement awards, for gaining selection to Yorkshire’s A and B squads were presented to Guy Borrowdale, who has been called up to train with England Under-16s, and James Mills.
Certificates of Achievement for representing South Yorkshire Under-15s went to: Joe Duffy, Will Hardy, Isuru Fernando, Patrick Selkirk, Owen Creaser -Smith, Samir Afzal and Dylan Poyser who captained the team.
