The second Northern Open indoor meeting takes place today at the EIS, Sheffield. Entry closed a week ago with a massive entry. The 60 metres alone has attracted 350 athletes across the age groups.
Kristie Edwards (Sheffield) was an outstanding double winner in the first meeting and again contests the 60m in the U20 section whilst another Sheffield double winner, Billie Jo Harris lines up in the U15 60 and 150m events. Ben Shields (Sheffield), winner over 150m last time, tackles a 60/300m double this time. Sheffield 400 metre man Tim Burn goes for speed in the 60 metres and is also listed in the 600 metres.
Sheffield heptathlete Karla Drew is in the 60m flat and hurdles as well as the long jump. In the hurdles she clashes with her teammate Kelly Clark.
Another Sheffield combined event athlete, Liam Ramsay goes for the high jump, long jump and hurdles whilst under 17 Sheffield athlete, Matthew Miller, has a busy day in the under 17 60 metres, hurdles and long jump.
Hallamshire’s Essa Ahmed, a prolific indoor winner at under 17 level, runs in the 300 and 600 metres.
