Local athletes are in action this weekend for the UK Young Athletes Development League.

In the upper age group (u20 and u17) North Premier 1, City of Sheffield have a home fixture at Spinkhill on Sunday.

In North Premier 2 second-placed Doncaster AC aare at home on Sunday. Chesterfield and Rotherham have ground to make up in Division North East 1 at York whilst Hallamshire look to consolidate their lead in East 2 at Woodbourne Road.

The lower age groups (u15 and u13) compete tomorrow. Sheffield lead Northern Premier 2 and are at third-place Doncaster. Chesterfield and Rotherham are leaders in North East.

Hallamshire’s Andy Heyes competes at Manchester tomorrow in a British Milers Club meeting.

Heyes will be looking to improve his personal best 1500 metres time of 3:44.15

The Bedford International meeting tomorrow and Sunday has attracted a high class entry.

Among them are City of Sheffield 400 metre runners Tim Burn and Luke Edwards whilst junior Adam Hague (Dearne ALC) is listed for the pole vault.
