Indoor cricketers from Sheffield Transport Cricket Club retained the trophy in the 2014 local ladies indoor ‘6-a side’ cricket league.

The Sheffield Women’s Indoor Cricket Winter League is a yearly tournament which runs from late September to early November and is organised and officiated by volunteer students of the University of Sheffield.

It brings in a variety of players from local cricket clubs and the Universities, with an age range of 13-40+. This league is keen to encourage more teams of any ability to increase participation in the sport and would love to hear from any potential sponsors.

This year included teams from Sheffield Transport, Treeton, South Yorkshire, Hallam University and the University of Sheffield.

After six thrilling weeks of close games the penultimate match decide the title was between University of Sheffield and Transport.

Transport won - to avoid the use of calculators to determine the league winners - preserved their unbeaten record and lifted the trophy, provided by Sheaf Sports.
