Saturday comes ... and Steve Duncombe can’t wait.

Sheffield Steeldogs latest signing faces his former team Peterborough Phantoms in an iceSheffield showdown (7.30pm; doors open 6.30pm), a month after they unexpectedly released him.

Duncombe will, of course, be determined to help the Steeldogs defeat the team he signed up with in the summer. His arrival is also very timely as Steeldogs will be without Kriss Grundmanis after he received a match penalty in Manchester last Sunday.

Tickets are available on the door on Saturday, price adult £8, concession £6, child £3 (Under-8s free) and family £20.

Steeldogs, who travel to Bracknell on Sunday (6pm) to take on the 10th placed team (6pm), picked up an unexpected point rom their double-header against the EPL’s top two teams. They went down 8-3 to Guildford Flames but took Manchester Phoenix into overtime before they were edged out 3-2.

Man of the Match Edgars Bebris and Craig Elliott scored against Manchester while Latvian sensation Janis Ozolins bagged a hat-trick in the Guildford clash.
