Joe Dudgeon believes Barnsley are “on a roll”.

And the Hull City loan left-back wants to do everything he can to help the Reds maintain their steady climb up the League One table.

A 3-2 home win over Colchester United on Friday means it’s three victories in a row now for the resurgent Reds.

“We’re on a roll at the minute, everything seems to be clicking,” said Dudgeon.

“The stuff that wasn’t going for us in the past has started to, so hopefully we keep playing this way.

“It’s been positive and we want to keep moving on from these wins - and getting some more wins.

“We’ll look at the two goals we conceded [against Colchester], but the victory is the most important thing, and we’ve been getting them.

“We’re gelling now. I think we struggled at the start of the season, but there have been a few changes here and there, and we’ve settled into a formation which works.

“I think things can only be positive from here.”

“Things are coming to fruition and we feel that, if we get the ball up there, then we’ll score.”

Dudgeon missed three games in a row when he was dropped from the Reds’ starting line-up by manager Danny Wilson.

But the 23-year-old won his place back and has been a key player in the club’s last four matches, which have yielded ten points from a possible 12.

“I’m glad to be back in the side, but it was always going to happen,” offered Dudgeon.

“There are too many games to play that if you keep the same 11 you’ll end up blowing up.

“Competition [for places] is healthy. You’ve got to know that you’ve got to be at your best or you won’t be in your team.

“That’s happened to me, but now I’m back in the team.

“Hopefully I’m doing enough to stay in the starting 11.”
