Sheffield United extended their unbeaten League One record to eight games by hammering Port Vale 4-0 this afternoon - and Blades fans were understandably delighted.

On Facebook, Gareth Ede said: “That as to be up there as the best team performance in the last couple of years. Absolutely faultless from start to finish. Simon Moore might as well have been sat in the stands with us.”

Danny Dempsey added: “Loved it. Just what we needed after a couple of weeks, there is a great feeling around the place. Keep it up, Tufty.”

Lewis Grayson wrote: “We absolutely mullered them. At times it was ridiculous how much better than Vale we were.”

And George Howson said: “Brilliant result, outclassed Port Vale at every position on the pitch today.

“Scored eight goals, four of them counted. Fantastic performance Blades!”

Midfielder Mark Duffy, who scored United’s third, wrote on Twitter: “Great all round performance that today. Buzzing to get my first goal at home aswell... atmosphere was on fire!”

Tyron James tweeted: “That result has been coming for a while. Brilliant performance.

“Fleck man of the match for me, but him and Duffy ran the show in midfield today. What a class act they both are at this level.”

And Dan Senior had the final word, simply adding: “I love Chris Wilder.”
