‘Early days,’ says cautious Wilson

SHEFFIELD United manager Danny Wilson has warned against reading anything into his team’s position in the League One table.

United remained third - a point behind second-placed Stevenage - when they were held to a draw by Oldham Athletic three days ago.

But he said: “It’s very early days yet. The most important thing is being in a good position come March.”

Despite heading to Preston North End this weekend unbeaten in the competition this term, United have drawn seven of their 12 outings since returning to action in August.

Four of those stalemates have come at home but Wilson added: “We know what we’re expected to do but I think we’ve got players who can thrive on that, lads who can rise to the occasion and make sure it brings the best out of them.”

Former United defender Tony Kenworthy will be the subject of a question and answer session at Bramall Lane next month. The event, which takes place on November 1, is priced £25 per person or £200 for a table of 10.

Seats can be reserved by contacting the stadium’s box office.
