DANNY Wilson, the Sheffield United manager, has confirmed Jamie Murphy, Jonathan Forte and Danny Higginbotham are back in contention for tomorrow’s League One fixture against MK Dons, writes James Shield.
But United face an anxious wait to discover if Diego De Girolamo will be available to face Karl Robinson’s side after the striker returned from international duty with Italy’s under-18’s suffering from a knee problem.
Wilson said: “We’ve kept five clean sheets in six games but we want to score more goals. We want to give ourselves every advantage.
“We’ve done well in the meantime but Jonno and Jamie provide us with an extra threat.”
Wilson, who revealed Higginbotham missed last weekend’s win at Oldham Athletic due to a migraine, told The Star that De Girolamo was set to undergo exploratory tests when he reported back at Bramall Lane last night.
The teenager scored during Italy’s 2-1 midweek defeat by Austria in Salò, Lombardy, but finished the contest with suspected ligament damage according to the Federazione Italiana Gioco Calcio.
“We don’t know how serious it is,” Wilson said. “We’ll know more after Diego has been scanned.”
