Jamal Campell-Ryce is almost certain to miss this afternoon’s game against Walsall as he continues to undergo treatment for a hamstring injury, writes James Shield.
The Sheffield United midfielder was withdrawn during the half-time interval of Tuesday’s Capital One Cup victory over Southampton after reporting the problem to coaching staff.
“Jamal knows his own body better than anyone,” Andy Garner, United’s first team coach, said last night. “He told us he felt a twinge and he was right to do so.
“If he hadn’t then we could be facing a scenario whereby Jamal was out for a long spell and that’s something we obviously don’t want.”
