Nigel Clough admitted Sheffield United’s match with Rochdale was ‘one of the toughest’ they’ll come up against at Bramall Lane this season, after watching his side grind out a 1-0 vicory today.
Jamal Campbell-Ryce scored the winning goal as the Blades left it late to see off Keith Hill’s Dale, who had been dangerous for long periods in the game.
Clough said: “I thought the most important period was in the second half when they were on top and we didn’t concede, got the winner in the last ten minutes and could have had a second.”
He added: “In lots of ways that’s probably one of the toughest games we’ll have here this season. You’ve seen in the last two matches, Crawley and Rochdale, they’ve upped their games, to really make it diifficult for us. That’s the sort of thing we have to get over, with character and spirit and with some play as well.”
