Sheffield FC suffered a third cup exit in 10 days, this time in the Doodson Sport League Cup with 3-2 home loss to Evo-Stik North side Ossett Town.

Club took a lead when Zeph Thomas volleyed home after Vill Powell had flicked the ball on. But Town hit back to lead 2-1 at the break through a Chris Wood header and a Callum Ward strike. Club’s Andy Gascoigne hit the woodwork after the break.

However, a fine solo effort from Fernando Moke saw Ossett snatch a third late on and although Gascoigne pulled one back it was the visitors who progress to round two.

In the NCE League Cup Parkgate were hammered 8-0 by Heanor Town. Armthorpe Welfare lost 2-0 to Thackley.
