Home tie for Steels

THE draw for the third round of the Evo-Stik Doodson League Cup has given Stocksbridge Park Steels a home tie against Premier Division rivals Blyth Spartans.

It will be the third meeting between the teams this season. Spartans have won both, 5-0 at home before completing a league double with a 3-2 victory at Bracken Moor in September.

Sheffield FC, who finally played their much-delayed first-round tie earlier this week, beating Garforth 2-1, will host Premier Division leaders North Ferriby United, if they win their second round tie at Brigg Town.

Worksop Town will be intent on gaining revenge when they host neighbours Frickley Athletic.

Town have signed 6ft 5in former Huddersfield Town striker Tom Denton from Blue Square Premier side Alfreton Town for an undisclosed fee.
