Hallam midfielder Paul Lavender has revealed why he decided to reject advances from other clubs to stay at Sandygate for another season.
Ben Cobley and Craig Getliff have also joined the 26-year-old in signing new one-year registrations, with all three rejecting the opportunity to join former boss Julian Watts at Shirebrook Town.
Lavander received offers from three clubs, including one from a division above.
“The club has really looked after me and that was a major part of the decision to stay,” Lavander said. “I work away a lot but they really look after me and make me feel part of the team when I come back. I feel like I should show them some loyalty.
“It is also a really good club and I like Chris (Sellars) as well.
“We will have to see how many of the players turn up.
“If we can keep most of them and add a few more to the group we will have a very good chance. There is a lot of talk about Aaron (Moxam) leaving the club so he will definitely need replacing next season.”
Sellars will welcome his players back for pre-season on June 20. He said: “We are expecting two or three old faces will be joining us for next season and we consider these to be key signings to help us achieve what we want next season.
“With Aaron leaving though a new striker is going to be our main priority as well as a new keeper.”
