Lethal forward Fernando Forestieri has expressed his delight over the Owls’ “unbelievable” October but warned his teammates that they will slip up at some stage.

Forestieri’s fourth goal in eight Wednesday starts ensured Carlos Carvalhal’s charges beat Nottingham Forest and stretched their unbeaten streak to 10 matches in all competitions.

Victory moved the Capital One Cup quarter-finalists to within touching distance of the top-six but Forestieri insists they must stick together when their results dip.

He told The Star: “Everybody is happy and we are all playing good.

“We are not making a lot of mistakes and the coach told us to play with heart and not relax against Nottingham Forest.

“At the moment, things are good but when you relax something bad happens so the coach is very clever to talk like this.

“We have had an unbelievable month, beating Rotherham, Arsenal and Forest. But there will come one month where we have a bad moment and we will need to stick together.

“It is easy to say something at the minute because everything is good.”

Wednesday welcome Championship leaders Brighton and Hove Albion to Hillsborough tomorrow aiming to become the first side to defeat the Seagulls this season. Three points for the Owls could lift them into the play-off positions.

“I don’t like to speak about the future and whether we will go to the play-offs,” said Forestieri. “The coach, in every single training, doesn’t say we need to go to play-offs or win the championship.

“The group focuses on every match so now we need to prepare for Brighton and after that we will see what happens.

“We know Brighton are a good side but they need to be careful of us because we are at home so it will be an interesting game.”
