ONE TO WATCH
Former Hull City trainee Clayton Donaldson is poised to spearhead Birmingham’s attack, having been rested from their FA Cup loss to neighbours West Bromwich Albion last weekend. The 30-year-old is on track to become the first Blues player in two decades to score 20 league goals in a season. He has found the back of the net 11 times since arriving on a free transfer from Brentford last summer. The Bradford-born forward was the Bees’ top scorerduring the 2013-14 campaign, hitting 18 goals in 48 appearances.
Wednesday are targeting a third successive victory over Birmingham. Indeed, the Owls triumphed 2-0 at St Andrew’s last September courtesy of two second half goals by Stevie May and Jeremy Helan. But Birmingham are a much improved side under Gary Rowett. He took over two days after they suffered an 8-0 home defeat to Bournemouth on October 25, a result which left them second from bottom in the table. Since then, they have lost just two of Rowett’s 12 league matches.
Trevor Kettle: It will be the ninth match the Rutland whistler has officiated this season. He has issued 25 bookings and no red cards. His last outing came on January 17 when Rochdale thumped Crawley Town 4-1.
