SHEFFIELD Wednesday are drifting towards the relegation zone after a 2-0 away defeat at promotion chasing Southampton, writes digital editor Graham Walker.

The Owls are now just four points clear of the relegation spot but they do have two games in hand on teams below them in Npower League One.

The unthinkable would be for them to fail at the end of the season and find themselves in the fourth tear of the FA league.

Southampton meanwhile are pushing for automatic promotion to the Championship.

Jose Fonte headed home their opener from close range in the 60th minute.

Six minutes later Richard Lambert got their second with a goal from close in to the bottom left corner of the net.
